Final racing season for the Audi R8

“Take Advantage” – this is the AUDI AG motto for the 2005 motorsport season. The DTM title defence forms the heart of Audi's motorsport involvement during the 2005 season. Audi enters a total of eight works cars in Europe's most popular touring car series.

The Audi R8, the most successful Le Mans Prototype of all time, competes in its sixth and final racing season in 2005. And, at the same time, one of the goals could be crossed of the list in June 2005: The fifth win at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.. Out of a total of six starts since 2000, the Audi R8 has won the Le Mans 24 Hour race five times. "This is a fantastic result," said Dr Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of AUDI AG, who had green-flagged the race as Honorary Starter.

The main focus of attention in touring car customer sport this year is the involvement of Audi Sweden with the A4 in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC). Audi also supports the motorsport activities of the marques that belong to the brand group.
